 Shannon Shaffer
Shannon Shaffer is a twenty-year resident of Roanoke, having moved here from the Pennsylvania dairy farm where she grew up, Shaffer’s Dairy. She last served on the Co+op board in 2020 but continues to embrace the Roanoke Co+op, the seven cooperative principles, and everything the Co+op brings to its owners, its employees, and the community.
Currently, Shannon is an Employment Services Manager with Rehabilitative Services and Vocational Placement, Inc. She is a nineteen-year active member of the Junior League of Roanoke Valley (JLRV) and is a past President of the organization as well. She most recently has served as the Nominating Committee Chair and on the New Member committee of the JLRV. Shannon provides care as a respite foster parent for Roanoke County Department of Social Services. She is a graduate of Leadership Roanoke Valley through the Roanoke Regional Chamber.
Shannon fills her personal time with running on the greenway, spending time with family and friends, volunteering as a puppy sitter for St. Francis Service Dogs, and traveling and exploring local and new areas. In addition, Shannon has a passion for supporting local businesses and farmers, and for being as friendly to the earth as possible.
